While visiting Puerto Jimenez be sure to check out the local art & music scene.
Visit restaurants such as the Mango Real for live music, local & international bands. Some of our favorite local bands are the Villalobos Brothers, Costa Ricans from Puerto Jimenez, playing Bolleros and Meringue every Friday night at the Pearl of the Osa just 15 minutes west of Puerto Jimenez on the beach. The Bone Rollers is an eclectic group of musicians playing every thing from Santana to Stevie Ray Vaughn and throwing in a little punk to keep the crowd dancing!. Former members of The Blind Pigs from San Jose make up the band along with a few other ex pat members from the likes of Germany, US and Canada. These guys are a blast so support local music if you see them playing while you’re in town.

The gallery represents Michael H Cranford, Peter Sirell, Tao Watts and Chuck Amidon as well as local Tico artists. The gallery adds a bright new spot on Main Street with openings during the season. Come by & support local arts when the doors are open, which is every day from 8AM — 8PM. You can also find art at the Jagua gift shop at the airstrip and Juanita’s Mexican Bar & Grille on Main Street Jimenez.

After the monkeys have gone to sleep & the birds have quieted down, it is time to hit the town! So what do you do in a small town on the beach at night. Save the dancing for a little later & go see a play. The Dominical Little theatre has an upcoming performance for Christmas. If you are in town on these dates, December 17, 20 & 22 come see the community performances- It is a Holiday Cabaret Show - EXCELLENT! In the past this Dominical Little Theatre group has performed South Pacific, The Odd Couple and The Fantastiks to packed audiences. This is far more than a small town theatre- these performances are excellent- come see for yourself & support the community arts.
